Complements of Biological Chemistry
A.Y. 2019/2020
Learning objectives
The course will introduce students to a basic understanding of bio-molecules and of the biochemical reactions that support cell functions (amino acids, proteins, nucleotides, nucleic acids, ), in particular for what concerns the metabolic pathways related to cell energetics.
Expected learning outcomes
Students will be able to recognize the different classes of biological macromolecules and their components; they will also be able to establish the associated functions in the cellular context. Students will be able to follow the roles played by diverse metabolic pathways in the context of cell/organ function and viability.
