Learning objectives
The course aims to deal with main events of European history during Twentieth Century, with particular reference to some countries.
Through the vision of historical films, the course also aims to provide tools for the use of cinema as a source for the study of history.

After the course, students must have a firm knowledge of the main subjects of contemporary European history, with particular reference to the countries studied.

Prerequisites for admission
A general knowledge of history from 1848 to the present days, to be acquired through the study of Sabbatucci-Vidotto, Il mondo contemporaneo, Laterza
Teaching methods
During the lessons, the professor will outline the main events of Italian history in the period from the beginning of the Twentieth century to the Seventies, within the broader context of European history.

Assessment methods and Criteria
The final exam will consist of an oral test aimed at ascertaining the students' knowledge of European history of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries and their ability to analyze the texts and films specified in the program.
