Learning objectives
To provide data, information and knowledge on: origin, importance, botanical, physiological, agronomic features, biological cycle, quality and quantity of the product obtained by field crops in Europe.
Expected learning outcomes
Knowledge and capacity to work in the cereal, industrial, forage, seed, feed sectors by using productive tools in sustainable way.

Course syllabus
Principles of agroecology. Properties of the cropping, farming, regional systems. Classification and statistics both at international level (FAO) and local level (ISTAT). The main cathegories of crops: cereals, pulses, industrial, fodders, no food). Main agronomic plans (soil tillage, fertilizazion, weed control, irrigation, stress management, harvesting, conservation), the main features of the final product for the following crops: cereals, pulses, industrials, fodder, no food.
Prerequisites for admission
Knowledge in Ecology, Botany, plant physiology, agronomy, basic statistics
Teaching methods
Conventional lecture, project based learning, working in small or larger groups, process simulation, complex phenomena discussion for critical thinking development
