Learning objectives
Students will develop the language skills needed to reach at least level B1, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, in writing, listening and speaking, and level B2 in reading to ensure competency in understanding written information regarding the subjects they will be studying as part of the undergraduate course.
Expected learning outcomes
By the end of the course students will be able to: - enter into conversation on topics that are familiar, of personal interest or pertinent to everyday life (e.g. family, hobbies, work, travel and current events) using appropriate vocabulary and functions. - understand the main points of clear standard speech on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, study, leisure. - write simple connected text on topics which are familiar or connected to their interests and studies. - understand specialised, academic and scientific articles connected to the undergraduate course having acquired a working knowledge of specialist vocabulary.
