Course syllabus
The course aims to guide the knowledge of the general lines of the history of French culture of the twentieth and twenty-first century, in relation to changes in social and political contexts.
Unit 1
The first unit will reflect on the notion of cultural history in the French context, outlining its fundamental features from the end of the nineteenth century to the present day.
Unit 2
The second unit will focus its attention on the different strategies adopted - in the field of cultural policy - by successive governments in France from the Third Republic to the contemporary era.
Unit 3
The third unit will explore the role played by writers in the political life of France during the twentieth century.
Unit 1

Assessment methods and Criteria
The exam takes place in oral form and involves verification of the acquisition of scheduled content and also of the ability to apply the theoretical knowledge acquired to the analysis of the various documents examined during class.
