Learning objectives
The course aims at providing the students with the essential tools to understand the process of European integration from its origins to the present and to deepen the characteristics of the legal order of the European Union.
The evolution of the European integration process and the current structure of the European Union will be analysed, with a specific focus on the following aspects: general characteristics of the European Union and its competences; institutional framework of the European Union; functions attributed to political institutions; the legal system of the European Union and its sources; characteristics and effects of European Union law; the relations between the European Union legal system and the national legal systems
Expected learning outcomes
At the end of the course, the students will know the institutional system of the European Union and the main institutions of European Union law in socio-economic practice. Moreover, they will be able to understand the relationships between the European Union legal system and the Italian legal system.
