Learning objectives
the teaching of Human Physiology is aimed at making students understanding:
- the functions of the organs and systems of the human body
- the homeostatic control mechanisms, i.e. the ways through which organs and systems cooperate in maintaining the energy balance and the chemical-physical organization of the organism (physiology of vegetative life)
- the modalities through which the relationships between the organism and the environment take place (physiology of the life of relationship)
- the functions of the organs and systems of the human body

Expected learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student might:
· have acquired the elements to evaluate the main physiological parameters in humans
· demonstrate a quantitative and deterministically interconnected approach to assess biomedical variables, including confident processing and interpretation of data charts and graphs
· explain and illustrate the concepts and notions related to the following topics:

Assessment methods and Criteria
Oral exam consisting of a few questions, aimed at determining the knowledge of Organ Physiology and of Neurophysiology/Control Systems. The candidate must demonstrate to have a precise knowledge of the main physiological parameters and of the functioning mechanisms of the organs. Confidence with quantitative aspects of the subject (graphs, equations and units) will be evaluated during the examination. The student must also be able to discuss functional relations among biological mechanisms. The test is evaluated in 30ths. There are in itinere checks; during oral exams the use of books or notes itis not allowed.

Oral exam consisting of two questions, one aimed at determining the knowledge of Organ Physiology, the other of Neurophysiology and Control Systems. The candidate must demonstrate to have a precise knowledge of the main physiological parameters and of the functioning mechanisms of the organs. The candidate must also be able to draw functional parallels between them. The test is evaluated in 30ths. There are no ongoing checks and it is not allowed to use texts or notes.
