Learning objectives
The course aims to develop reading and writing abilities and metalinguistic reflection through the use of statements and articulated texts. Furthermore, the most significant phenomena of contemporary Italian are analysed. The exercises provide activities to improve listening and speaking abilities. The aim is consistent with the goal of the CdS to create a qualified professional figure of a culturally aware language expert.
Expected learning outcomes
At the end of the course a student will be able to produce clear and articulate texts on various topics relating to his/her field of interest and study, by assessing information and articulated texts taken from different sources, summarising them and stating them with fluency and clarity.
Moreover, he/she will be aware of the existence of an Italian language on the move and he/she has experimented with the lexicografics tools.

Course syllabus
In addition to the course there will be 60 hours of exercises, which will take place in the first and second semester. The exercises are aimed at deepening the contents of the lesson and improving the skills of understanding and production, both written and spoken. Exercises are also aimed at helping in the study of the texts put to program.
Students will be free to access to the website Lingua italiana per stranieri III, on the Ariel platform, for further insights and materials. Teachers will try, wherever possible, to fix the exams on the same day.

- UNIT 1
The didactic unit intends to present the most significant phenomena of evolution in action in contemporary Italian for the morphosintactical and lexical sectors, in relation to the different types of texts. It is also proposed to train in the critical use of lexicographic tools.
- UNIT 2
The textual characteristics of the expositive texts will be analysed.
- UNIT 3
The morphosintactical, lexical and textual characteristics of the argumentative texts will be analysed.
Prerequisites for admission
In the first year, an entry test corresponding to level B1 indicates the prerequisites for access to the Stranimedia curriculum. For the third year, the level of competence B2 and C1 is required for the understanding of written and oral texts.
Teaching methods
The course is divided into three sections, aimed at strengthening various and coordinated skills and competences, by combining the metalinguistic reflection with the approach to textual typologies through different teaching techniques.

Assessment methods and Criteria
The exam consists of a compulsory written test and an oral test which can only be accessed after passing the written test.
The written test is articulated in activities of written production, written comprehension, lexicon, metalinguistic reflection through different didactic techniques: manipulation of text, completion, rewriting of text, cloze test.
The oral test involves the verification of the knowledge acquired through the texts indicated by the section Reference materials.
