Learning objectives
The course aims to provide a set of knowledge and tools to understand migration policies, paying particular attention to the Italian case compared to the international context.
More precisely the course has three objectives: 1) to analyze border policies, mobility rights and the issue of irregular immigration; 2) to understand policies for the inclusion of immigrants into receiving societies, paying attention to the concepts and practices of multiculturalism, civic integration, assimilationism, citizenship, refugees' reception; 3) to focus on local policies, in terms of exclusion or acceptance of immigrants and refugees.
