Learning objectives
The target of the course is to train students in the field of low vision and visual rehabilitation from both the theoretical and practical aspect. The student must acquire notions of neuropsychiatry, rehabilitative physics and psychology that condition the rehabilitative treatment of visual function; must acquire knowledge about the importance of vision in neuropsychic and motor re-education.
Low vision is becoming in fact a socio-medical problem increasingly common in all age groups due to the aging population and the improvement of care that can often save partial visual function, avoiding the state of blindness
Expected learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student will have to demonstrate a competent approach in the management and take in care of low vision patients, focusing on the rehabilitation process and the resulting spheres. (vision and psychology).

Oral exam.
Knowledge of rehabilitation techniques in low vision patients and related psychological problems
Psichiatria
Course syllabus
Psychopathology: disorders of perception, disorders of ideation, formal disorders of thought, disorders of the content of thought. Delusions. Various types of delirium. Expansive and regressive delirium: difference and similarities.
· Disturbances of consciousness. Differential Diagnosis with Organic Delusional Disorders (Delirium)
· Ego consciousness disorders
· Disorders of volition, vigilance, attention, memory (Notes)
· Schizophrenic syndromes: Beginning, pre-morbid function, etiopathogenesis, course, clinical and hints of differential diagnosis. Therapeutic notes. Other psychotic disorders.
· Mood disorders. Unipolar depressive and manic disorders. Bipolar disorder. Etiopathogenesis, beginnings, clinical course, differential diagnosis and therapeutic notes.
· Anxiety disorders: Panic disorder, Generalized anxiety disorder, Specific and social phobia, Obsessive-compulsive disorder.
· Somatoform disorders: Somatization, Conversion and differential diagnosis with psychosomatic disorders, Hypochondria, Post-traumatic stress disorder.
· Pharmacological therapy (outline)
· All topics will be treated focusing on the main clinical symptoms and differential diagnosis with the same symptoms presented in different psychiatric pathologies and organic diseases. Particular attention will be paid to pathologies that may affect the orthoptist.
