Learning objectives
The course is aiming at providing basic knowledge in the development of the normal child; in the origin and causes of somatic and psychic alterations; in the most frequent pathologies in childhood in the fields of pediatrics and neuropsychiatry;
Expected learning outcomes
The student will be able to:
· define the semiological and clinical aspects of somatic, psychological and neurological development of the normal child and in pathological situations;
· discuss the correlations in alterations of the neuro and psychomotor development in childhood and the main factors of etiopathogenesis; congenital and acquired;
· discuss the main approaches of treatment in childhood diseases.

Observation and evaluation in childhood
The therapy and the therapeutic setting
The concept of rehabilitation in childhood: general aspects and needs
Neuropsychological aspects: attention, memory, discrimination, generalization, problem solving e strategies of problem solving, planning and strategies of planning, communication ability skills, interpersonal skills, individual independance
Praxic activities: evaluation, lateralità hand-foot-eye, graphic motricity and development of the graphic activity
Occupational therapy intervention in infant neuropsychiatry: ADHD, disorders of motor coordination, cerebral palsy, intellectual disabilities, genetic syndromes, autistic disorders.
