Learning objectives
The course aims to achieve the communication skills required for the B2 / C1 level of the CEFR. The course will provide students with a contrastive approach, the knowledge of Russian sectoral language in the specialist legal and economic fields. The comprehension and production skills of oral and written texts related to situations of specialized communication in the field of international cooperation will be developed. The development of students' autonomy of judgment will be pursued through the autonomous carrying out of tasks of contrast analysis of parallel texts and their discussion during class.
Expected learning outcomes
By the end of the course the student will have consolidated knowledges of the main lexical, morphosyntactic and pragmatic aspects of the legal and economic Russian language and enhanced understanding, interpretation and production of some text types (international normative acts, Corporate Social Responsibility Reports, corporate advertising texts, business letters) corresponding to the B2C level of the CEFR.

Course syllabus
The course starts with an introduction to legal linguistics in the field of rusistics. The central part of the course is dedicated to the morphosyntactic, lexical and pragmatic aspects of Russian legal language and provides the tools for the contrastive analysis of legal texts. The final part is aimed at acquiring specific knowledge on the types and composition of the business letter in Russian.

Assessment methods and Criteria
The written test is preparatory to the final oral exam and is composed of three parts: 1) lexicological/terminological analysis; 2) morphosyntactic contrastive analysis of legal texts; 3) drafting of one of the international corporate communication texts. The oral test is aimed at verifying the theoretical knowledge acquired during the official course and the communication skills developed during the practice sessions.
