Learning objectives
The course aims to provide students with some knowledge of both technical and scientific applications allow to the winemaker to better use the variability present in the soil and climatic conditions and in the germplasm of Italian viticulture.
Expected learning outcomes
To provide knowledges about the geological origin of soils, soil formation, climate characteristics, techniques for the optimization of the interaction between genotype and environment through a proper varietal selection and adequate agronomic management of the Vineyard.

Sustainability in viticulture, historical retrospective, current events and future developments. Territorial viticulture, case studies. Cultivation techniques and sustainability. Sustainable defense. The enhancement of genetic and environmental resources. The viticultural zoning.
Prerequisites for admission
Adequate knowledge of viticulture and enology.
