Learning objectives
The course aims to provide students with a solid base of teaching methodologies and technologies in the field of Life Sciences.
Expected learning outcomes
The student will be able to apply the most appropriate teaching methods and technologies to teach biological sciences in the secondary schools. Moreover, the students will acquire skills to recognize in the daily environment, in literature and in the media, some topics pertinent to Biology in order to learn how to use them in teaching and to grasp their teaching potential

- Methodological approaches for teaching Biosciences.
- Laboratory teaching and field experience as a methodology for learning Biological Sciences.
- Methodologies and teaching technologies for studying the relationship between Biology and society: environmental education, conservation of biodiversity and sustainable use of natural resources, biotechnologies, human health.

Assessment methods and Criteria
The exam consists in an oral test which includes the verification of the key concepts of biosciences for teaching and the discussion of a report relating to a lesson/laboratory activity proposed for a secondary school, referring to the concepts of didactics of Biosciences.
The knowledge under evaluation will concern: the key concepts of Biosciences for teaching, the teaching and learning processes mediated by the use of new technologies, the ability to use the teaching methodologies and technologies proposed during the course and the ability to organize a lesson calibrated for the chosen school and the ability to relate the topics discussed with the current society.
