Learning objectives
The teaching workshop aims at providing theoretical and technical knowledge for cataloguing and managing archaeological and epigraphic documents (data-entry, compose and edit vector graphics images). In particular, specific case studies from the ancient Near East and Egypt will be addressed within the Lab.
Expected learning outcomes
Knowledge of methods for cataloguing textual documents and archaeological data; learning techniques of data-entry, acquisition and editing of vector graphics images.

Introduction: digital tools for data management; the management of archaeological data through GIS; computational lexicography and digital epigraphy; multivariate analysis for the study of cuneiform texts; management and enhancement of archival heritage; cataloguing and processing documents (hands-on training).

Teaching methods
Frontal teaching; seminars held by experts and group discussion; hands-on training.

Teaching materials will be provided in class and uploaded on the teacher's Ariel website.
Assessment methods and Criteria
Involvement of the student and the profitable performance in hands-on activities, aiming at ensuring the achievement of the expected learning results.
