Teaching Workshop: Archaeozoology

Learning objectives
The archeozoology workshop is intented to strengthen professionalizing skills of students enrolled in the degree course in Cultural Heritage Sciences, so that at the end of the training course he can find employment on archaeological excavation sites as a specialized worker, and this also thanks to the knowledge of a particular class of archaeological documents such as animal remains.
Expected learning outcomes
The workshop is thought to be an introduction to the knowledge of animal remains from archaeological excavations. Its main goal is to provide students with basic tools to critically evaluate the contribution of animals to the historical, cultural and economic evolution of ancient human communities. Crucial attention is paid to the methodological and procedural aspects of archaeozoology.
