Learning objectives
The course aims at providing students with analytical tools relevant for a knowledge of regulatory strategies. The first part of the course is aimed at providing students with a set of general analytical tools and concepts that may be applied to the regulation of any economic and social activity seeking to understand how regulatory authorities pursue the social and/or economic objectives that they are expected to promote. The second part is aimed at providing a description of disruptive forms of technological change are upending multiple sectors of the modern global economy as well as the laws and regulations that govern them
Hence the course (complemented with interactive class activities on specific topics and eventually guest speake's talks) is aimed at providing students with qualified (professional) profiles and renewing contents and methodologies of teaching EU market regulation and European policies thanks to the development of multi-disciplinary studies.The use of interacting teaching methods is aimed at improving communication skills and testing ability of applying acquired knowledge. It will also enable students to undertake a critical appraisal of the main matters.
Expected learning outcomes
The course introduces students to the regulatory aspect of risk and innovation in particular in the data economy. After the end of the course students know the basic principle and the instruments of regulation and regulation risk.
They gain a thorough understanding of the problems of innovation, technological change ( i.e. artificial intelligence, blockchain, ) and its regulation. In particular they should be able to interpret, understand and think critically applying the concepts presented throughout the course.

Assessment methods and Criteria
The test will last 2 hours and will be articulated through open-ended questions. This method of formulating the questions makes it possible to evaluate the knowledge acquired, the autonomy of judgment gained also in reconstructing the subjects and the legal problems underlying them.
The questions will be different between attendants and non-attendants students. For attending students the questions will refer to the parts of the texts indicated in the program and to the topics covered in class. In particular, in order to verify and improve the learning ability for attending students, intermediate tests are scheduled during the course.
