Learning objectives
The course provides knowledge in the specific and distinctive aspects of boxing by analyzing the training sessions and competitions' performance models.
It outlines the differences between amateur boxing and professional boxing. It provides the tools to create qualitative content planning and it provides the tools to apply quantitative data in relation to boxing situational aspects. The course also provides theoretical skills being able to deal with boxer training related issues in the regards of availability, lifestyle and winning attitude. Different daily and sporting aspects of boxer management interpretations are analyzed.

Expected learning outcomes
The student will acquire the needed sports, managerial and organizational skills to lead a boxing team. He will acquire technical skills in coaching, physical conditioning and training to pursue performances and injury prevention. Students will develop a holistic approach to boxer physical and psychic management. They will acquire constructive criticism tools for boxing development and advancement.

Teaching unit 1: Performance model
Brief historiography about boxing from classic age to the contemporary age. It will show the boxing performance model and it will go towards a theoretical model about the classical boxing methodology and it will elaborate new insights about methods using laboratory outcome
Teaching unit 2: Fear and boxing performance
It will analyze the most important sports mental states - Flow, Clutch, Choke state - according to the current neuroscientific researches. It is proposed a qualitative and experiential approach to control emotional state e improve performance.
Teaching unit 3: Athlete's anthropology and sports periodization
It will analyze the anthropology and the social domain of boxing athletes. It will set up a new paradigm to create a boxing periodization able to predict and control physical states, mental states, and power relations inside a boxing team.

Assessment methods and Criteria
The examination will consist of an oral exam on the topics addressed in the course, in order to assess knowledge, understanding, and ability to apply knowledge and understanding.
Evaluation criteria:
- knowledge of the theoretical aspects of the performance model (exposition);
- ability to exemplify concepts (understanding);
- capacity of use and interpret scientific, theoretical and social data (development);
