Learning objectives
The course aims to provide students with:
i) references to the anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology of the nervous system;
ii) knowledge of the semeiotic aspects of the main neurological syndromes and diseases of the nervous system also in medical, surgical and rehabilitative therapeutic foundations.
Expected learning outcomes
The student knows:
i) the clinical neuroanatomy and physiopathology of the nervous system; ii) neurological examination and its interpretation, instrumental diagnostic methods of neurological interest;
iii) the diseases of the nervous system in their epidemiological, genetic, neuropathological, pathophysiological, clinical and therapeutic aspects.

Concerning clerkships, information will be directly given by professors during classes, following the current agreement with the San Paolo hospital concerning safety and health surveillance measures to be adopted for accessing wards, day-hospital, and laboratories.

Prerequisites for admission
Students must have passed the examinations of: anatomy, physiology, histology, pathology and biochemistry.
Teaching methods
Attendance in hospital wards, clinics, day hospitals, first aid activities, discussion of clinical cases.
