The course's primary objective is the acquisition of the historical, political, economic and cultural aspects of Japan that have contributed to the insertion of the country in the international political context, from the end of the XIX century up to the '30s of the XX century.
Expected learning outcomes
At the end of the course, the student must have acquired the fundamental notions of the political-economic strategies of the historical period in question; furthermore, he must have developed individual critical abilities on the political-ideological dynamics that, from the 'Meiji Restoration' of 1868, aimed at building a homogeneous national identity.
