Learning objectives
Objective of the course is to develop competencies on diagnostic tools currently applied for animal's health and wellness management.
Expected learning outcomes
The student is extected to acquire the theoretical knowledge of the major laboratory techniques (bacteriology, virology and immunology) applied to the prevention of infectious diseases of farm animals.

The student is extected to acquire the practical ability to apply the above mentioned methodologies to correctly perform the diagnosis of infectious diseases in fam animals.

During the emergency phase, the program will be maintained, except for the only necessary modification of the delivery method, which will be by remote.
Course syllabus
Theoretical classes:
Bacteriology and virology methods to control the most important diseases of farm animals (mastitis, enteric, respiratory and genital diseases), PCR
Immunology techniques (immunochemistry, serology, electrophoresis and fluorimetry)
Practical classes:
Experimental application of bacteriology and PCR (single bench)
Prerequisites for admission
Not required any preliminary knowledge
Teaching methods
The teaching consists in theoretical classes and practical classes in laboratory

Assessment methods and Criteria
The obtainment of the expected learning outcomes by the student are assessed by an oral examination based on questions with open answer and questions with closed answer, which include also the description of the practical activity.
The evaluation parameters include correctness of answer, comprehension of the topics of the program, ability to connect them and propriety of language.
The grade is expressed in thirtieths and it is communicated to the student immediately after the end of the oral exam.
In case of emergency phase, the exams, with the same procedure, will be performed by remote.
