Learning objectives
The Legal Clinic is focused on how ICT impacts on Economic Governance and Democracy. Through the analysis of concrete cases and of specific experience within the European Institutions, the complex phenomenon will be dealt with and rendered understandable for students.
Expected learning outcomes
At the end of the Legal Clinic students who successfully participated will have acquired a method of reasoning and working with concrete cases, thus being able to draw general lessons from the cases analyzed during the close-up classes.

Teaching methods.
If an extension of the COVID-19 emergency phase will not allow teaching in classes on the University's premises (face-to-face teaching), the lessons will be held synchronously on the zoom platform (on-line classes) and will follow the time-scheduled assigned for face-to-face teaching.
Programme and teaching material.
The course syllabus remains the same. Additional teaching materials, if used during on-line classes (slides displayed, case-law etc.), will be made available to students on the Ariel platform.
Learning assessment procedures and assessment criteria.
The final exam will take place orally, on the zoom platform and will be aimed at ascertaining the achievement of the objectives in terms of knowledge and understanding and at verifying the student's independent judgment. Oral skills and accuracy in the use of the specific language of the discipline will also be taken into account.
Course syllabus
Technology and the concept of Democracy. The challenges for the modern Democracy. Digital asymmetry. Cyber-security. Technology and: Law, Economy, Society, Politics. The perspectives of the e-Democracy: the initiatives adopted by the European Parliament.
Prerequisites for admission
Students must know the concept of liberal and representative democracy. They must know as well the (at least) basic functioning of online tools. The knowledge of English is essential, the Course being in this language.
Teaching methods
The professor will introduce every time a topic by analysing the item. Then he will open the discussion, if necessary even with individual questions. Some time a specialist practitioner will be invited to participate to the discussion in order to share her/his experience

Assessment methods and Criteria
The evaluation of the students is based on: analysis of texts circulated during the lessons, an oral presentation during the course, permanent debate during lessons.
