Learning objectives
Main objectives are:
- to know the fundamentals of vertebrate biology, structural organization and physiological mechanisms of tissues in domestic animals and wild ungulates,
- to know breeding techniques of domestic animals: feeding and nutrition, breeding, most important breed in mountain, management of dairy ruminants (cattle, goats, sheep) with particular regard to the characteristics of mountain dairy farming, grazing and milk quality.
Expected learning outcomes
The expected results are:
- to use the knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of mammals and their specific terms, to compare the anatomy and physiology of different mammals,
- to know how to evaluate ruminant rations with the use of main fodder,
- to being able to manage mountain pastures, assess feeding techniques and genetic improvement for ruminants, to monitor and improve the quality of produced milk.
