Learning objectives
- to know the principles of bioethics, legal and medico-legal regarding the profession;
- to develop an integrated approach on the patient, critically evaluating rehabilitative, medical, relational, educational, social and ethical aspects involved in prevention, care, rehabilitation and in achieving the highest level of personal wellbeing;
- to have a professional, decisional and operational independence, thanks to a holistic approach towards health problems and the patience that includes also chemical and physical, biological and social characteristics belonging to his surrounding environment;
- to know how to evaluate epidemiological data and also how to use them to prevent diseases and promote health;
- to gain the best way to use methodologies related to medical information and education;
- to analyse and respond to healthcare needs, considering benefits, risks and costs, in light of the principles of evidence-based psychiatric rehabilitation;
- to know the fundamental rules and laws to preserve and promote health;
- to know the fundamental laws that regulate health organizations;
- to know the organizational models of psychiatric rehabilitation used in health centers;
- to know the ethical and professional liability standards, critically analyzing the ethical principles underlying the different professional choices;
- to gain an appropriate experience in the general organization of work, recognizing the different dynamics;
- to gain the ability to develop the right operational approach towards the medico-social subjects, gained also with first-hand experiences;
- to gain the ability to locally implement primary prevention, in order to promote a relational network able to encourage the best way to deal with the risks of pathology

Forensic medicine
Course syllabus
The teaching aims to provide basic knowledge about professional liability in the field of health, with particular regard to:
- Informed consent;
- State of necessity VS private violence crimes or injuries;
- Interdiction, incapacitation, supporting administration;
- Neglicence, imprudence, inexperience, compensation for damage;
- Professional secrecy: admissibility, exonerating circumstances, risks of damaging behaviors;
- Self-injurious behaviors;
- End-of-life (do-not-resuscitate order and ordinance number 207, November 16th, 2018, of the Constitutional Court);
- Cause-and-effect relationship in Forensic Medicine.
Some knowledge about forensic psychopathology and criminology of domestic violence will also be delivered. Theoretical aspects will be more comprehensive by adding several case studies (decisions in the matter responsability, clinical cases, forensic reports).
