Learning objectives
The Teaching workshop Lusophone Studies aims to introduce from a critical and theoretical point of view some aspects of the historical, literary and sociolinguistic processes of the culture of Portugal, Brazil or other Portuguese-speaking countries (or those involved in Portuguese colonization). Expected learning outcomes
Knowledge and understanding: to acquire the essential concepts analyzed during the course; identify the strategies and methods underlying the historical, literary and sociolinguistic processes investigated.
Applying knowledge and understanding: to know how to grasp the sociolinguistic, cultural and literary implications of the topics discussed; to know how to reflect critically on the theories and tools learned.

Second semester
The laboratory will be held in the second semester, Febraury 2021. The laboratory is held entirely in Portuguese and is open only to 20 students from the Portuguese area.
Course syllabus
The Laboratory will focus on mainly linguistic and lexicological aspects, in particular it aims to analyze the learning and teaching of the Portuguese language (PLE-PL2) from a lexicographic and terminological point of view, without neglecting the pluricentricity of this language and the power relations between existing variants and protovariants.
Students will be provided with the basic notions of lexicology and lexicography in the Portuguese.
Prerequisites for admission
Proficiency in Portuguese.
Teaching methods
Acquire the essential concepts of lexicology and lexicography; analyze the strategies and methods underlying the creation of tools (dictionaries in particular), observing the preconceptions and discriminatory phenomena present.
Ability to apply knowledge and understanding: grasp the sociolinguistic and cultural implications of teaching and learning the Portuguese language from a lexicographic and terminological point of view; knowing how to reflect critically on the theories and tools learned.

The laboratory has a site on the online platform Ariel to which reference is made for lecture notes and other materials provided by the teacher.
