Learning objectives
The course is divided into lessons organized into various historical frameworks regarding the evolution of radio and television systems and in meetings with key players of the various jobs taking place in radio and television production. The course will analyze the design, preparation, production and airing of a television and radio programs with on-site participation in the recording/airing.
Expected learning outcomes
At the end of the course, the student is expected to have acquired:
Knowledge: the student will master the salient aspects of the evolution of radio and television media, technological changes, those to production equipment and for languages.
Skills: they will be able to interact with some of the jobs required in today's radio and television productions.

Course syllabus and organization

Second semester
During the emergent teaching phase, the syllabus is maintained with the following modifications necessary for successful online enjoyment of the course originally designed for in-person teaching:

Teaching Methods:
Classes will be held in predominantly videoconference using Teams.
All synchronous videoconference lectures will be recorded and made available in the online course.
The schedule of lessons and all details of the activities will be published in the online course, on the Ariel platform. Any updates will also be communicated through notices in the online course (check often the mail @studenti.unimi.it).
The modalities and criteria for attending the lessons in presence, which require a reservation with the app, will be published in time in the online course.
Those who, unable to attend the lessons in presence, follow the instructions for the conduct of alternative activities online and follow the lessons online, even in deferred viewing recordings, are considered attending.

Reference Materials:
Those who bring the syllabus as an attendee, in addition to the bibliography already given in the syllabus, must refer to all lectures, materials and resources published in the online course.

Modes of verification of learning and evaluation criteria:
The examination is oral and is carried out in Teams, according to the indications provided by the University. Details and schedules of the orals are published and constantly updated in the online course.
Course syllabus
The objective of the course is to introduce students to the fundamentals of audiovisual storytelling as it has developed in television and radio.

The course includes live lectures through the Teams app with the support of texts, slides and audiovisual aids and web sources. The course also includes the intervention of some experts in the radio and TV sector in order to provide students with an insight into production processes and professional figures. The audio sector (radio and podcasts) will be privileged over the television sector.
In particular, the following perspectives will be addressed:
- elements of history of TV radio
- elements of media discord analysis
- elements of media anthropology
- analysis of audiences
- analysis of the professionalism of radio and television
