Learning objectives
Attaining B2 level according to the he Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
Expected learning outcomes
Reading comprehension: reading articles and reports concerned with contemporary problems; understanding contemporary literary prose.
Listening comprehension: understanding extended speech and lectures and follow even complex arguments as long as the topic is reasonably familiar; understanding most TV news and current affairs programmes in a standard language

Course syllabus
Reading and listening activities are scheduled in addition to the following topics: indicatif, impératif, conditionnel, subjonctif, gérondif, participle present, plus-que-parfait, phrases hypothétiques, passive forms, prepositions, adjectives (comparatifs, superlatifs), pronouns (réflechis, relatifs, démonstratifs, indéfinis, interrogatifs, accouplés), reported speech.

Attendance: compulsory

Important: Students of the program Erasmus+ incoming must contact the Language Centre of the University through Infostudenti Service by selecting SLAM.
Prerequisites for admission
Students who attained a level lower than B2 at the entry-level test will have to attend the course.
Teaching methods
The course consists of 20 hours of in-person learning and 60 hours of self-study on the online platform.

Assessment methods and Criteria
To be admitted to the end-of-course test students must have attended at least 75% of the course and complete at least 75% of the exercises on the online platform by the end of the course.
The assessment is computer-based. Students will have to sit for the test one week after the end of the course. It consists of three parts:

1.Listening comprehension: 2 listenings
2. Reading comprehension: 2 readings
3. Language use: 2 grammar exercises and 2 exercises of vocabulary.

Students who do not attain the level required by their degree program can sit for the test up to five times within their academic career.
Students with disabilities or with specific learning disabilities (SLDs) must contact SLAM through Infostudenti Service in order to receive special arrangements and support for the exam. (Students with disabilities: 50% of extra time; Students with SLDs 30%).
