Learning objectives
The course aims to provide the methodology for the study of the main processes of corporate management in multinational and multicultural global perspective.
Expected learning outcomes
The student at the end of the course will have acquired the necessary skills to be able to recognize the structure of the company, the strategies and policies primary marketing; also you will be able to adapt their knowledge to their language skills.

Teaching methods
The lessons can be followed on the Microsoft Team platform according to the time schedule of the second semester. Moreover, lessons will be recorded and uploaded on the Ariel webpage of this course after their end.

The contents and the teaching materials do not vary according to what has already been specified.

Final evaluation and criteria of assessment
The final evaluation will be a written exam on the unimi platform's 'moodle' with the software Proctorio. The exam will aim to verify students' knowledge concerning the basic concepts and instruments on Business Administration
Course syllabus
This course is structured in four thematic parts:
I) The first part is introductory and will treat the most relevant concepts of Business Administration such as economic activity, economic good, the different typologies of institution and business and their governance assets.
II) The second part of the course will be focused on the financial statements and we will especially look at the main concepts (revenue, capital) and the process through which the balance sheet is developed.
III) The third part will illustrate the concepts of competitive systems, competition and all the processes and business choices that firm can adopt to increase their competitive advantages.
IV) The last part of the course will instead treat the most relevant organizational choices and processes such as human resource management, the evaluation and management of performance and the organizational structure.
Prerequisites for admission
No specific competences or knowledge are required to attend this course since this is an introductory course towards Business Administration
Teaching methods
- Frontal lessons about the most importances concepts and instruments of business administration. To support frontal lessons, additional teaching materials such as slides and scientific articles will be provided through the Arial online platform.
- Open and guided discussion about some illustrative business case studies.
Teaching Resources
The book that is going to be used in the following:
Airoldi, G., Brunetti, G., Coda, V. 'Corso di Economia aziendale', Il Mulino, Bologna, (the last two edition).
Only the following chapters of the book will be treated and asked at the final exam:
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 (only sections: 6.1, 6.2, 6.3, 6.4, 6.5), 7, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 15, 16.
Assessment methods and Criteria
The exam is structured as a written test with both open (around 3-4 questions) and closed questions (around 25 questions) on the specific topics discussed during the lessons.
