Learning objectives
The course provides theoretical and practical knowledge on the kinesiological approach and on muscle-bone-joint pain and dysfunction of interest to physicians, physiotherapists, and graduates in physical education.
Expected learning outcomes
Students will acquire the ability to apply the correct physical activity in patients with various back problems after they have received physiatric treatment and physiotherapy and assist them in recovering normal mobility and motor ability.

1. Definition and epidemiology of low back pain
2. Causes of low back pain
3. Biomechanics of the lumbar spine
4. Anatomy and mechanical load on the lumbar spine: segment of Junghans
5. Causes and mechanisms of mechanical pain and lumbar inflammatory pain
6. Lumbar load during functional movement
7. Prevention of low back pain
8. Evaluation and approach to acute and chronic low back pain
9. Planning of physical exercise in the prevention, treatment, and recovery of mobility in low back pain
Prerequisites for admission
Prior knowledge of spinal anatomy and its major bone structures, ligaments, and muscles governing movement are rerequisites for this course
Teaching methods
The didactic methods consist of lectures in which phases of theory explanation theory, presentation of typical clinical cases and practical lessons of corrective approach are alternated.
Teaching Resources
Reference material is presented during frontal lectures.
Bibliography, recommended but not mandatory, consists of the following texts:

Assessment methods and Criteria
The final exam is an oral dissertation on the theoretical and practical topics covered in the course (exercises, time and type of execution), as outlined in the practical part of the course.
