Course syllabus
1, Diagnostic imaging techniques: X-ray tube, X-ray interactions with matter. Digital radiography Computed tomography. Ultrasound - Doppler flowmetry. Magnetic resonance imaging. Contrast media
2. Diagnosis of thoracic diseases: Inflammatory, interstitial, neoplastic conditions. Radiological evaluation of the heart and great vessels
3. Imaging of liver and biliary tract: Conventional radiology; ultrasound; color Doppler sonography; Contrast Enhanced Sonography (CEUS), CT; MRI and MR cholangiography. Benign lesions (Angioma, Focal Nodular Hyperplasia, Adenoma), Cystic lesions of the biliary tract, HepatoCa, Liver metastases, Jaundice.
4. Imaging of pancreas, spleen and adrenal glands. Indications on the capabilities of the imaging methods. Most frequent pathologies: Congenital anomalies of the pancreas, Acute and chronic pancreatitis, Exocrine and neuroendocrine pancreatic tumors,

6. Diagnostic imaging of the digestive system: Conventional radiology, Ultrasound, CT - EnteroCT - Virtual colonoscopy MR. Most frequent pathologies - clinical indications for diagnostic imaging

7. Diagnostic imaging in breast cancer. Mammography, Ultrasound, MRI Most frequent pathologies. Imaging protocols in asymptomatic women. Imaging protocols in symptomatic women. Breast cancer evaluation

Teaching methods
The teacher uses frontal lectures on the different items described in the outline. At the end of each frontal lesson some time is dedicated to questions by the students to promote a better knowledge of difficult aspects of the lesson.
