Course syllabus
The course aims to provide the basic tools for reading, analysing and producing icono-texts. Various discursive forms will be analysed: examples of illustrated novels, photo-texts, newspaper articles, memes, with the aim of reflecting on how these hybrid texts are constructed and how the relationship between text and image works on various levels.
Prerequisites for admission

Teaching methods
The first part of the course will be structured around frontal lessons aimed at acquiring the basic tools for analysing verbal-visual texts. During the first meeting, the lecturer will also divide the students into groups that will have to accompany an assigned narrative text with images, thus testing what they have learnt during the lectures. The second part of the course includes presentations of the group assignment: students will have to present their illustration project, explaining the reasons for their choices and the methods used and the meaning of the operation carried out.
