Learning objectives
The archaeological excavation of advanced level strengthens technical-professionalizing tools acquired in the archaeological excavation of basic level. The main goal of the laboratory is to enable students to find employment in archaeological excavation fields as skilled worker at the end of the training course.
Expected learning outcomes
The laboratory teaches students how to produce graphic and photographic documentation of archaeological evidence and how to use optical and electronic equipment for topographical relief, such as total station. Particular emphasis is given to the acquisition of stratigraphic excavation and sampling methods for palaeoeconomic and palaeoenvironmental purposes. An essential part of the laboratory is the acquisition of the necessary skills to understand the site and the surrounding territory from a spatial and landscape archaeology perspective.
