Learning objectives
Through a transdisciplinary approach, the course aims to give the students an extensive knowledge of the cultural practices in the main French-speaking areas. To this purpose, various media (literary texts, critical texts, images, videos) will be used to understand the cultural and transcultural dynamics set up in those areas.
Expected learning outcomes
The ability, through specific critical tools, to understand, analyse and compare different cultural phenomena, sociological dynamics of relationship, intercultural and transcultural connections. More specifically, the student should get a wider vision of the multiple diversity of contemporary society and develop possible answers to the issues that will arise during this socio-cultural research.

Après une première partie consacrée à l'étude des contextes littéraires, historiques, culturels et sociaux examinés, le cours envisagera quelques exemples de "prose oralisée" dans le roman francophone contemporain. Seront mis en lumière les enjeux littéraires et socioculturels sous-tendant la création des textes dont l'inflexion se voudrait fidèle au rythme du parler local. De l' « oraliture » réinventée par Patrick Chamoiseau à « lékri dlavoi » de Katalin Molnar, nous chercherons à définir la valeur accordée, selon les contextes de production et de réception des textes, à la construction stylistique de la différence (géographique et sociale). Nous expliquerons comment un usage oral de la langue, socialement dévalué, peut être converti en « valeur littéraire » dans quelques contextes d'écriture post-coloniaux.
Prerequisites for admission
Ability to understand specific themes and motifs of Francophone literature with appropriate analytical methods and tools. Students who have never attended a Francophone literature course are advised to read the following essay: Dominique Combe, Les littératures francophones, Paris, P.U.F., 2010.
Teaching methods
The course consists of 40 hours. The lessons will be held in French and will take place in the classroom with the support of electronic technologies (audio, video, slides) in order to stimulate the direct participation and individual contribution of the students. The lessons will be held in presence.

Assessment methods and Criteria
The exam will be oral and will consist of an interview in which the skills and knowledge acquired will be verified.
