Learning objectives
The 3rd internship activities take into account the time that the student will have to devote to the preparatory work for the thesis preparation. At the end of the internship the student must have attended in rotation all the services present in the different places of internship or outpatients of:
-Refraction of adult and orthotic child adults and children
-Neurophthalmology
-perimeter
-fluorangiography
-hypovision
-Visual rehabilitation
-outpatient clinics dedicated to different pathologies (congenital diseases, endocrinology, pediatric ophthalmology, corneal surface, retina, glaucoma).
-Operating room
Expected learning outcomes
During the third year of placement, the student must attend all the
Orthoptic and Ophthalmology departments and clinics:
- Adult and pediatric refraction
- Adult and pediatric orthoptic clinic
- Neurophthalmology
- Visual fields (Perimetry)
- Fluorangiography
- Low vision clinic
- Visual Rehabilitation clinic
- Clinics dedicated to different disorders (Congenital disease,
Endocrinology, Pediatric ophthalmology, Glaucoma)

At the end of clinical internship period the student must be able to work independently
The student must have all the teorethical knowledge acquired during the courses of
Strabismus and Orthoptic treatment
General and specialized surgery and in particular Ocular surgery
Neurophthalmological Science
At the end of the course the student must have attended all service and clinics in different location:
refraction
orthoptic
neurophthalmology
perimetry and microperimetry
angiography
Low vision
Ocular rehablitation
Clinical practices dedicated to different pathologies (congenital pathology,Endocrinology, occupational medicine,pediatric Opthalmology,ocular surface disease,Glaucoma,retinal disease)
Operation room
Prerequisites for admission
The student must be passed the clinical internship exam II and have the knowledge acquired with clinical internship II
Teaching methods
Theoretical knowledge becomes pactical skills thanks to traineeship
Are planned: drills seminars, clinical simulations,team work, setting up of written assigments, problem based learning.

Assessment methods and Criteria
Extensive clinical training will be performed from October to September.
Through "knowledge","know-how" and "knowing-how to be" will be assesed the learnig outcomes.The final judgement will be expressed in thirtieth based on the average of three evaluation sheet
