Learning objectives
The bachelor degree in Biotechnology is acquired following a final exam, which consists in a short public presentation of the results of the activities conducted during the final stage. The final thesis is a short test, not particularly complex, written by the student in Italian or English, which describes the methodologies applied during the stage and the conclusions. The presentation is judged by a commission made of professors form the bachelor course or external experts. The commission will conclude her work with an overall judgement and a final grade which considers the full career of the student, his/her maturity, the communications abilities, language skills, critical thinking and the participation to international mobility programs ( Erasmus+)
Expected learning outcomes
With the final exam, the student will demonstrate his/her active participation to a small research project during the final stage. The students will present the methodologies used to produce the data written in the thesis, they will be able to interpret and critically discuss the results obtained, they will have to prove their communication skills and rational thinking.
With the final exam , the students will complete the Biotechnology Course obtaining the final CFU for the Bachelor Degree

Prerequisites for admission
The degree in Biotechnology is achieved by passing a final test, consisting in the presentation and public discussion of a written dissertation, in front of the Examination Board composed of the course professors and possibly external experts. The dissertation is drafted by the student, in Italian or English, under the guidance of a supervising professor, who indicates a second professor (or an external expert) as Co-Supervisor. The CFU reserved for the final examination include the thesis preparation, its presentation and discussion. The thesis has a training role that completes the three-year study path. No particular originality is required for the topic and its preparation must be commensurate with the number of credits assigned to it by the Bachelor Course.

Assessment methods and Criteria
The Examination Board assigns a score on the final dissertation based on the Supervisor's evaluation of the Candidate's internship, the dissertation and presentation (5 points), and on the Board assessment of the Candidate's knowledge, communication skills and intellectual ability (3 points).
The final Degree mark reflects the candidate's overall performance: the average score of the three years exams (resulting from the weighted average of marks obtained in the different exams), the ability to complete the degree program within the set time frame (1 point), the Erasmus experience, provided it has been completed with positive results (1-2 points) and the final dissertation (1-8 points).
The Board expresses its assessment with a grade out of one hundred and ten. The exam is deemed to be passed with a minimum grade of 66/110 and a maximum grade of 110/110. In the case of granting a maximum grade, the Board may also grant honours (lode) by unanimous decision.
