Learning objectives
Principles of Economics is aimed at providing the basic elements of knowledge of the economic methodology and theory. The program of the course will cover both elements of microeconomics and macroeconomics, to understand the individual and collective economic behaviour. Bioethics is aimed at deepening issues related to the ethics and innovation in the biotech sector. The Exercise module aims to deepen the management aspects of innovative firms in the biotechnology sector, thanks to an application approach that focuses on the programming, creating and managing of the innovations, with insights related to the conception of business plans as part of start-up.
Expected learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student will be able to understand about the main microeconomic and macroeconomic mechanisms of the markets for goods and services and will know how the innovative firms operate in the market. Furthermore, the student will be able to understand the debate on bioethics and bioeconomics applied to the biotechnology sector.

Assessment methods and Criteria
The exam is writing in a 60-minute session. The exam is made up of open questions, multiple choice questions and exercises. The maximum score for the correct answer is indicated for each question.
