Learning objectives
The aim of the course is - through the institutional and systematic study of Italian private law, as regulated in the Civil Code and in the most important special laws complementary to it - to provide students with the knowledge of private law fundamental institutes, with the appropriate methodological approach - through which it is possible to address any civil law problem - and with the structure of the Civil Code.
Expected learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student will be able to recognize the fundamental private law institutes and the structure of the Civil Code. He/she will be able to apply the methodological approach through which any civil law problem is faced.

Lessons will be held in presence. Lessons will be held on the Ariel platform and can be attended at the same time as the scheduled timetable for the first quarter. In addition, lessons will be recorded and available on the same platform.

Private law; the sources of law; people; the obligation; performance and non-performance; the contract; validity and invalidity of the contract; effectiveness of the contract; representation; the effects of the contract; termination and termination of the contract; behavioral criteria of the contractors and interpretation of the contract; illicit facts; other acts or events giving rise to obligations; debtor's liability and creditor's guarantee; circulation and other events of credit and contracts; prescription and forfeiture; the protection of rights.
The program includes all the aspects indicated above even if not covered in class.
Prerequisites for admission
No prerequisites are required, except for a good knowledge of the Italian language.
Teaching methods
Frontal lessons. The course will be accompanied by a seminar on the main typical contracts: sales, rental and procurement.

It is also essential to study the civil code, using any edition on the market as long as it is up to date.
Assessment methods and Criteria
The learning assessment method will be evaluated during the oral exam and the evaluation criterion will be based on the candidate's knowledge of the exam program and presentation ability.
