Learning objectives
- To understand the fundamental dynamics of the economic system with particular reference to the agri-food system;
- To illustrate the logic and methodologies used to guide consumer choices;
- To provide an overview of the regulatory policies of the different sectors of the agri-food system;
- To know and apply the principles and methodology of research and critical appraisal of evidence of health interest in the literature;
- To know and apply the principles and methodology of statistics useful for clinical-epidemiological research for the promotion of individual and community health;
- To know and apply computer methodologies for bibliographical research and the presentation and processing of data using commonly used software.
Expected learning outcomes
At the end of the course students will have bases to undertand main elements of economic theory and will be able to analyze the food market and the different sectors that it includes. Students will describe the main steps of the research process, will identify the main statistical measures useful for the interpretation of the quality of evidence, explain the principles and methodology of epidemiological research.

No prior knowledge required.
Assessment methods and Criteria
A single written test divided into several parts: open-ended questions, multiple-choice questions.
You get 10 points for the answer to the open question, 2 points for each correct answer to the True or False questions and 2.5 points for each correct answer to the multiple choice questions. You always get 0 points for each answer not given.
After correction by the professors, the results are communicated to the students through the unimi portal.
