Teaching methods
Attendance to classes is mandatory. Laboratory is delivered through lectures aimed at providing the student with the essential tools to carry out research in medieval history, with particular reference to the Ancient Hospital of Milan:
- building an updated bibliography through the available research tools (catalogues and online repertories, dictionaries, databases);
- knowing the main types of medieval sources: reading published records and finding the way through the iconographic sources;
- historically contextualize the monument and create links with the cultural offer of the city during the visit planning period;

These skills will be first acquired by insights on research tools and sources and then through the guided tour of the Ancient Hospital of Milan and practical experience supported by each individual student in front of the audience of their comrades.
