Deviance Sociology, Juvenile and Criminal Law

Learning objectives
The educational goal of the course aims at developing knowledge related to:
· individual, group and social communication processes in a globalized society
· the relationships between processes of social construction of deviance and their normative definition
· the functions of social control
· institutional responses to social problems
· to the historical evolution and the current legislation of family law
· to the law of juvenile law, with particular regard to the institutions of temporary custody and adoption, the problems relating to the connection between the administrative interventions of the services and those of the judicial organs
· to the framework of the most important issues of criminal law, juvenile criminal legislation and the social reintegration of the offender, connected to the role of professional educator
· to the elements of knowledge regarding secrecy, professional responsibility and reporting obligations

Course syllabus
The subject of the course is the fundamental concepts concerning the legal protection of the child. The provisions of the Civil Code concerning the minor age, the rights and fundamental freedoms of the child, the parental responsibility and the custody of the child in the event of a family crisis, the new discipline of filiation, the tools for civil protection of the child.
Teaching methods
The educational activity consists of 20 hours of lectures held by the teacher. The participation of several professionals (magistrates and lawyers) is also envisaged for the illustration of practical cases.
