Learning objectives
To illustrate and discuss the most important methodologies used in the industrial field for the production and quality control of synthetic and extractive ingredients contained in food supplements. To provide the student with information regarding the formulation of solid and liquid dosage forms intended for oral administration. To deepen the knowledge of national and international regulations involved in the management of manufacturing and marketing of dietary supplements.
Expected learning outcomes
At the end of the training process, the student should have acquired knowledge about the main synthetic/extractive and analytical methodologies used in the production and quality control of ingredients contained in food supplements. Furthermore, the students will be able to recognize and to critically evaluate the main issues entailed by the formulation of complex systems, such as dietary supplements, and will acquaint themselves with the regulatory aspects concerning formulation, production and marketing of dietary supplements.
