Learning objectives
The aim of the final exam is to develop the student's ability to work independently and in a group, to enhance their organizational skills, their aptitude for research and finally to measure their communication skills. The final exam involves the writing of a thesis on a topic consistent with the educational objectives of the course of study. The thesis must always be an original written paper, in Italian or English language, and can be experimental or a bibliographic review. The experimental thesis involves the analysis and presentation of original laboratory or clinical data. The bibliographic review thesis consists of a critical analysis of the bibliographic documentation available on the specific topic.
Expected learning outcomes
The learning outcomes developed by the student during the work carried out for the final exam can be summarized as follows:
Knowledge and understanding
The student must know the scientific literature related to the topic of his thesis
Ability to apply knowledge and understanding
The student must be able to elaborate and critically analyze the available scientific literature giving it the form of a correct and updated bibliographic review. In carrying out laboratory and / or clinical work the student must progressively acquire the ability to make use of the most adequate and scientifically correct methods for obtaining results.
Autonomy of judgment
The student must be able to critically analyze the scientific literature on the topic of his thesis and over time be able to develop a scientifically correct methodological approach
Communication skills
The student must expose the contents of his work in a clear, concise and scientifically correct manner. In the case of experimental theses the objective of the investigation, the materials and methods used, the results obtained and final considerations must be well exposed.
