Learning objectives
The course intends to provide knowledge on the endocrine systems under physiopathological conditions and their interaction with phytohormones.
The unit of Hormones/Phytohormones will discuss the general concepts of endocrinology, with a particular view on endocrine axes and the effects of phytohormones, such as phytosterols and phytoestrogens, on the systems correlated with them.
The unit of Metabolic Pathologies will provide knowledge on metabolic biomarkers and pathologies, such as obesity, diabetes mellitus, metabolic syndrome, dyslipidemia, eating disorders and bone metabolism.
Expected learning outcomes
At the end of the teaching the student must demonstrate a solid knowledge of endocrinology and phytohormones as well as of metabolic pathologies.
Single course

This course can be attended as a single course.

Course syllabus and organization

Single session

Lesson period
First semester
Prerequisites for admission
Knowledges in anatomy, physiology and biochemistry are needed
Assessment methods and Criteria
The exam will take place in oral form in person. It will take place during the hours of the course itself for those attending, through a ppt presentation about a topic covered in the course. Language skills and the ability to organize the presentation in a complete way will be assessed. The evaluation will also take into account participation in the activities proposed during the course.
If the situation requires it and in compliance with the University's instructions, the Microsoft Teams platform will be used.
