Learning objectives
The aim of the internship is to provide the student with the skills and practical skills required for the exercise of the profession of Veterinary Doctor in the areas provided for the related License to Veterinary Doctor. The specific skills for each area will be acquired by carrying out 30 CFU of 25 hours each in the following areas: clinical, anatomical-pathological, Public Health, Zootechnics and Nutrition, Food Safety and Quality. The traineeships can be carried out at the teaching facilities made available by the Veterinary Teaching Hospital and by Teaching Farm or in affiliated structures such as public and private bodies, farms, private veterinary clinics / hospitals, natural parks or safaris, by agreement with the responsible teacher.
Expected learning outcomes
At the end of the internship, the student will purchase the following distinct skills for each area:

Clinical Pratical Training.
Visit and management of the diagnostic and therapeutic approach to medical, surgical obstetric-gynecological diseases in all species. Management of hospitalized patients and emergencies in all species. In addition: explain in a clear, simple way and using correct scientific terminology the presentation of cases; compliance with the veterinary code of ethics; drugs management in according to ItalianI law.

Pathology Pratical Training.
The student applies the knowledge and skills necessary for the following basic professional pathological activities in all species: a) to make, interpret and report a cytological exam; b) collect the anamnesis, perform a necropsy and write a macroscopic report; c) perform and interpret hematological and blood chemistry tests; d) explain in a clear, simple way and using correct scientific terminology the content of a histopathological an7 or necroscopy report.

Veterinary Public Health Pratical Training.
The student applies the knowledge and skills necessary for basic public health activities in all species: a) planning and performing bacteriological and mycological analyzes and immunodiagnostic tests; b) diagnose infectious diseases in the molecular biology laboratory; c) planning and carrying out parasitological analyzes, immunodiagnostic and molecular biology tests for parasitological diagnosis; d) perform necropsies of domestic and wild birds and laboratory tests in the avian pathology laboratory.

Animal Production including Animal Nutrition Pratical Training.
The student is trained to apply the basic principles of good breeding practices and to gain direct experience of a variety of animal management systems. Animal feeding activities are focused on training students in the correct formulation of rations for dairy cattle and meat, horses and diets for pets.

Food Safety and Quality Pratical Training.
The activity provides students with skills to apply the principles of HACCP and meat and fish inspection and monitoring programs to minimize the occurrence of food safety problems and concentrate inspection activities on the ensure compliance of adequate food safety standards in the production and processing of food of animal origin.
