Learning objectives
The course aims to provide students with some knowledge of both technical and scientific applications allow to the winemaker to better use the variability present in the soil and climatic conditions and in the germplasm of Italian viticulture.
Expected learning outcomes
To provide knowledges about the geological origin of soils, soil formation, climate characteristics, techniques for the optimization of the interaction between genotype and environment through a proper varietal selection and adequate agronomic management of the Vineyard.

The course intends to give a general picture of the concept of sustainability applied to viticulture and the procedures for evaluating and pursuing it, making reference above all to concrete case studies, also through the visit of leading wineries in the sector and significantly committed to improving their sustainability.
