Learning objectives
To introduce students to editorial work in the field of Italian fiction, from the acquisition of the manuscript to its publication.
Expected learning outcomes
Ability to evaluate a manuscript and draft different readers' reports. The elements of orienting oneself in the actual landscape of Italian fiction. Basic knowledge of editing. Knowledge of the editorial context.

Editorial writing: readers reports, marketing notes, and jacket copy.
Fundamentals of editing.
Italian fiction in the context of everyday publishing.
Prerequisites for admission
None.
Teaching methods
Introductory lectures, discussions, and practical individual and group exercises.
Teaching Resources
At the beginning of the course, students will receive a syllabus of readings related to the subject matter.
Assessment methods and Criteria
A draft of a reader's report, showing understanding of the principal ways of evaluating and supporting one's judgement of a manuscript. The final evaluation is "Approved" or "Not-approved".
