Learning objectives
The teaching workshop aims at presenting and explaining the steps necessary for the production of art documentaries, with particular attention to the production and writing phases (to which the second part of the cours is entirely dedicated).
Expected learning outcomes
Knowledge and Skills: through the analysis of some practical and theoretical examples, students will learn how to arrange the project for a video documentary.

The laboratory aims through practical and theoretical examples to tell, explain and try to carry out the steps necessary for the production of art documentaries, with particular attention to the production, post-production and writing phases (to which the second part of the course is entirely dedicated ) and with a practical film writing workshop and conception of an art documentary starting from a given filmed material.

PROGRAM BY LESSON
lesson 1) from writing to post-production: how a documentary is born and what it is (with particular reference to the world of art), what "reality" is (if it exists), how a glance can be told
lesson 2) from writing to post-production: how an art documentary is born, with some practical examples: clients, fundraising, destination research
lesson 3) projection and analysis of two short documentaries born on commission:
Gillo Dorfles. In a glass of water and Art tells about art. Mario Cresci
lesson 4) from writing to fundraising, from filming to editing depending on the purpose: TV, Museum, dissemination, Cinema and Festival, Web, social
lesson 5) the documentary as a project to be financed: official and independent cinema practices and mechanisms. The importance of sound.
lesson 6) one shot, countless films. start of the writing workshop: rewriting of the short documentary seen in the classroom, using the same footage but distorting the narration. Division into groups and initial formulations, exchange of ideas, research of the subject and its purpose (and therefore of its language).
lesson 7) rewriting
lesson 8) rewriting, image research and possibly editing of a "Teaser", first revision of the projects
lesson 9) presentation of projects as before a "commission"
Prerequisites for admission
Curiosity towards the world of cinematographic production and interest in the world of documentary cinema, and documentaries about art.
Teaching methods
lectures with a large space of interactivity, with numerous examples and practical teachings

reference material and examples of documentaries to be seen will be given during the course.
Assessment methods and Criteria
the course is aimed at the writing of an documentary about art (within a group work) which will be presented in the final lesson
