Prerequisites for admission
The course is aimed at students with English linguistic-communicative skills comparable to the Intermediate level (B1) according to the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)
Teaching methods
The course aims to develop the laboratory mode: maintaining a mainly interactive format where students must actively contribute to the development of the lesson with activities and/or projects carried out in groups or individually.
Following the indications coming from the recent European policies, the course also introduces the use of innovative teaching methodologies, such as participatory lessons, outdoor education, and CLIL (Content Language Integrated Learning), i.e. to integrate disciplinary contents through practical, hands-on activities carried out directly in the field. As part of this experimentation, a meeting will take place in the Portello area (formerly Alfa-Romeo).
This outdoor class will be conducted with the CLIL methodology, however, episodes of code-switching with Italian alternations will be assured to allow all students to manage the learned contents.
IMPORTANT: for students unable to attend the outdoor meeting, materials/documents and activities will be uploaded to be carried out remotely/asynchronously.
For the entire duration of the workshop, we will make use of slides, web apps, videos, and didactic material useful for the exemplification of the topics under study.

Assessment methods and Criteria
Being a workshop, it is not required to take a final exam. During the workshop, students will instead be asked to carry out specific tasks on precise indications and to submit a final project to which feedback will be given (based on the following descriptors: relevance of content, ESP linguistic accuracy, and effectiveness in the presentation).
