Learning objectives
The workshop aims to offer students an in-depth understanding of the intricate relationship between artistic performance and the performance of everyday life. It explores how performances shape the politics of identity and belonging, providing students with tools to critically engage with historical and future-oriented imaginaries through the lens of performance.
Expected learning outcomes
Upon completion of the workshop, students will be able to critically analyze the role of performance in social and political contexts, developing the ability to articulate complex ideas about identity, belonging, and historical narratives. Students will also gain proficiency in discussing key concepts from performance studies in relation to contemporary political dynamics.

Course syllabus
The workshop will consist of a series of lectures delivered by prominent researchers, providing students with diverse perspectives on the relationship between performance and politics in both Italian and global contexts. These lectures will be complemented by readings from foundational texts in performance studies, followed by discussion hours designed to deepen students' understanding and engage them in critical debates.
Prerequisites for admission
A solid command of the English language is required, as the workshop will be conducted entirely in English.
Teaching methods
The course will employ a combination of readings from canonical texts in performance studies and interactive discussion sessions. This format encourages active participation and critical thinking, allowing students to explore the material from multiple angles.
