Assessment methods and Criteria
Setting up a Playwriting (Structure and Purpose):
Students will be required to present a detailed synopsis of their work, highlighting the structure of the plot they will follow (exposition, conflict, climax, resolution) and explaining the narrative purposes of the text. This document will serve to demonstrate an understanding of the techniques of dramatic construction.
Character Development:
Each student will need to prepare an in-depth analysis of the main characters, including:
Psychological Characteristics: motivations, internal conflicts, and personal evolution.
Adopted Language: study of voice and dialogue, highlighting how word choice and expression reflect the personality and cultural background of the characters. Students will present character profiles in written form and participate in a group discussion to compare and analyze different narrative and stylistic choices.
Opening Pages of Playwriting:
Each participant will write the first five pages of their play, paying particular attention to how they introduce the story, the characters, and the central conflict.
The opening pages will be evaluated based on criteria of clarity, originality, and ability to engage the reader.
